The inaugural Captivate summit featured discussions about everything from Web3 and the metaverse to the future of programmatic, CTV, streaming, AI and more. A New Era of Immersive Video: Disruptive Formats and Demystifying Web3

From innovations in digital to the metaverse, new immersive video formats are poised to disrupt the industry. New ways of advertising also pose great potential for marketers looking to engage with consumers in unique ways - particularly for video. So how will emerging formats disrupt the way video marketing and content are thought about? What action - if any - should marketers take today to keep up with the speed of innovation? In this session, moderated by Garett Sloane at Ad Age, industry leaders including Kerel Cooper from Group Black, Mike Richter from Trusted Media Brands, Adam Shlacter from Niantic and Sarah Stringer from dentsu broke down the opportunities for marketing in the metaverse and also exposed some of the considerations and challenges to keep in mind for wide-scale adoption of immersive video formats.

Era of CTV Innovation: The Convergence of Digital & Linear

Advertisers everywhere are working to adapt a CTV-first mindset, and the convergence of traditional TV and digital has created a surge in technology innovation. In conversation with Jenn Chen from Connatix, James Chanter from Finecast and Ilana Wollin from Xandr explore the key innovations we’ve seen this year in CTV from both buy and sell side perspectives. They touch on everything from managing reach and frequency across partners, to content adjacency and the opportunities that ad-supported programs from Netflix, Disney, and others bring to advertisers looking to educate and entertain larger audiences.

Reaching Gamers in the Age of Streaming

Justin Fromm, Head of Insights at Samsung Ads, shares unique insights about streaming habits and how the move from linear to CTV is changing the advertising ecosystem. He discusses the rise of gaming, particularly social gaming, which has made almost everyone a gamer, and what that means for advertisers looking to reach engaged audiences through streaming video.

Programmatic's Future: Convergence, Transparency & Privacy-First Advertising

Over the past few years, the programmatic industry has continued to evolve as we adjust to new privacy regulations, calls for transparency and sustainability, and the looming threat of recession demanding more efficiency in the supply chain. As a result, the programmatic landscape is changing. SSPs and DSPs are merging, retailers are launching their own platforms, and holding companies are building custom marketplaces - turning programmatic into a confusing alphabet soup. What do these changes really mean for marketers and end consumers? What are the best ways to truly ensure efficiency and maximize media budgets? Chris Kane from Jounce Media moderates an exciting panel featuring Esra Bacher from GroupM, Will Doherty from The Trade Desk, Jesse Fisher from Horizon Media, and Amanda Gomez from New York Post discussing the future of programmatic.

How AI Will Drive The Future of Video

To close out the afternoon, Connatix’s own Dor Leitman took the stage to share an inside look at how artificial intelligence is driving the future of video, from generative AI building images and videos from text to AI-powered video analysis tools. He breaks down not only the benefits that this technology brings to marketers and content creators, but the ethical and technical considerations needed to ensure this technology is rolled out properly.
